Doctor of Medical Sciences
Oleh is a neurocytologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and a leading research fellow at the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology of the NASU. He has been studying nervous tissue and neural stem cells, focusing on their potential to restore the brain after stroke and in neurodegenerative diseases. He is the author of more than 80 scientific publications, including in PNAS, Brain, Stem Cells, Stem Cell Reports. He has collaborated with the Universities of Geneva and Lund, as well as researchers from the USA and the Netherlands. In Ukraine, he introduced modern methods of stem cell cultivation.
