Denys is a TV host who has dedicated himself entirely to volunteering since the beginning of the invasion. He evacuates civilians from front-line and near-frontline areas, focusing on vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children. Denys helps them find shelter, organizes transport evacuations, invests his own funds, and raises donations to purchase armored vehicles. He creates documentary films about the war. His short film 1% of War has already gained attention, and he is now working on a new film, Hirnyk, which will depict the realities of civilian life when the front line is near. Facebook

Every soldier I meet on the front line motivates me.

russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine pushed me to start volunteering, particularly with evacuations.

Overcoming my own fear every time before entering truly dangerous areas is my daily step toward success in my work.

Right now, I measure success by the number of lives saved—including my own.

Seeing families reunite, after they had lost all hope of ever meeting again, inspires me.
