Head of laboratory of applied climatology of UHMI
Svitlana is a climatologist, PhD in Physics and Mathematics in Geophysics, Head of the Laboratory of Applied Climatology at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute. She develops climate forecasts for Ukraine and is a lead author of reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). She was the first to develop a methodological approach to assess risk and vulnerability to climate change of economic sectors at the oblast level on the basis of ensembles of regional climate models.In 2022, she was named one of the world’s top 10 people who shaped science by Nature.
